There is not much of official information on the Honda SIEL India related to its future lineup of products for India. The Japanese car maker is planning to introduce Honda Brio Diesel by 2012 end as diesel powered cars are more in demand now-a-days and as per the latest news. Honda Japan is also working on a new small car for emerging markets like India, a small car which can compete with Tata Nano and Maruti Alto. The car is known as N Concept 4 which is a small concept car which is yet to reach the production phase as we write this article.
As per the unofficial details available the car will be extra small in dimensions, probably 133 inches in length and 58 inches in width. Don’t go by the dimensions as it will feature a more than enough powerful 660 CC V-TEC 4 cylinder engine that can put out 64 BHP of max power and ample amount of torque which is used in Japanese Kei cars and is quite popular in domestic markets of Japan.

With this new small car Honda is expecting to make a comeback in the automobile industry and regain its market share that has been lost due to soaring petrol prices. The new retro looking small car will be designed specifically for the urban commuter and is based on the Honda N600, which was initially launched in 1969 but was discontinued in 1972. The N600 was way too advanced in its era and featured an all-alloy engine which was capable of putting out 35-45 BHP of max power at 9000 RPM.

At the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show in November last year, Honda unveiled a retro concept called as N Concept 4 which could influence the design of the upcoming small car. The new small car will most probably hit the showrooms in Japan in 2013 while the Indian launch is expected to happen somewhere in 2014. Price of the car would fall in the Rs. 2 to Rs. 3 lakh bracket.
