For past few months, we have seen sharp decline in the sales of cars by Honda SIEL India, the reasons was not low demand, rather the reason was low supply because of supply constrains at the production plant. Unfortunate floods at Thailand disrupted crucial parts supply to Indian plant of Honda SIEL because of which Honda Brio and Honda Jazz production was severely affected. Honda reported sales drop in December 2011 and January 2012. The situation is likely to get better now as Honda SIEL has officially confirmed on 15th of February 2012 that it has resumed normal production with two shift operations.

The new bookings of Honda Brio small car and Honda Jazz premium hatchback were almost halted in India because of large waiting periods. With the normal production in place now, Honda SIEL hopes to clear all the backlog of pending deliveries of Honda within the month of March 2012. Honda Jazz production will also resume at normal levels around the end of February 2012.
