Honda Recalls 1.37 lakh units of CR-V globally due to airbag malfunction!
The Japanese based automaker, Honda is recalling 1.37 lakh units of their SUV, 2019 Honda CR-V, due to faulty airbags. The decision came after when three injuries were reported in six different incidents where the sudden deployment of driver-side airbag took place. Mind you, neither of the vehicles were involved in any crash.
The carmaker said that they are going to replace the steering wheel harnesses and supplement restraint cable reels of the affected vehicles. The recall includes a total of 1.18 lakh cars in the USA and 19,000 in Canada and South Korea.
Honda clarified that ‘metal burrs on the interior surface of the steering wheel may have resulted in damage that leads to short circuit and overheating of the components’ when asked on what lead to the sudden deployment of the airbags.
