Honda HR-V has reportedly been showcased to dealerships in Delhi. The B-Segment SUV is likely to launch in India by Diwali 2019.
Earlier reports said that Honda might skip its B-Segment SUV, HR-V, for India. It would be placed between Honda BR-V and CR-V, if it makes to the Indian market.
Now, Team-BHP reports that the premium SUV is for sure making it to our shores and that too, this year itself. It might be launched during Diwali 2019, so as to get maximum sales during the festive season.
The report says that Honda HR-V was recently displayed to dealership principals in New Delhi. It is likely to be bought as a CKD-unit initially, later being locally produced at its Greater Noida plant.

Earlier reports stated that HR-V might demand a heavy price, which would be higher than some of its rivals. As you see now, most of the Honda cars are slightly overpriced than their competitors.
Honda HR-V will be receiving a new-generation update later this year. There are chances that the manufacturer might launch the older-generation in India first, through the CKD route.
In India, it might use the 1.8 Litre i-VTEC petrol engine and the 1.6 Litre i-DTEC diesel engine. The engines might be borrowed from Honda Civic itself, which was launched recently.
The petrol unit produces 140 BHP and 174 Nm of torque. The diesel engine is a bit low on figures, delivering 120 BHP and 300 Nm of max. torque. The same diesel unit comes on the bigger CR-V.

The transmission setting might be the same as Civic, with the petrol engine mated to CVT and the diesel engine with 6-speed manual gearbox.
Honda HR-V will be priced in the 15-20 Lakhs range. It will primarily go against the upcoming Volkswagen T-Cross. Other rivals in the segment will include Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, Mahindra XUV500 and Hyundai Tucson.
