Honda is one of the biggest automobile brands in the world. However, it is struggling to gather its footing in the Indian market. Now, the company is finally bringing a new compact SUV. It has shared a teaser picture of the upcoming car on its social media channels. Honda is also planning to add a new hybrid SUV to their portfolio. It will make the company take on the likes of Maruti Grand Vitara and Skoda Kushaq.

Honda Compact SUV Coming This Summer?
Honda Motor Co. Ltd is the Indian subsidiary of Honda Cars India Ltd. It is finally bringing a much-needed SUV to India. The Japanese multinational automaker received a great response after it shared a teaser picture of this upcoming SUV on social media. While the company has not revealed which segment the upcoming SUV will fall in, it is said to compete with the likes of t is believed that it will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Tata Harrier in the compact SUV segment.
Honda Cars India has stated that “The All-New Honda SUV has been designed at the Honda R&D Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. following extensive market surveys in India for people’s changing lifestyle requirements and expectations from Honda for their new SUV in terms of design & performance”. A picture was shared on the company’s official Twitter handle with the tagline – “Kicking off 2023 with a sneak peek of the upcoming All-New Honda SUV. Premiering this summer. #HondaCarsIndia #HondaSUV“.
Honda Cars India really needs SUVs in its Indian portfolio. Over the last few years, it has seen declining growth in the country. Currently, the company offers models Honda Jazz, Honda Amaze, Honda WR-V, Honda City, and Honda City e:HEV. While it remains to be seen whether the new mid-size SUV revives the Honda car brand in the Indian market, it is definitely a much-needed addition to their Portfolio. It is also working on a subcompact SUV that will compete with the likes of Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
Hybrid Version to take on Maruti Grand Vitara
Honda Cars India is likely to launch the new compact SUV this summer. It has been given the codename PF2S. The upcoming SUV will comply with the new emission norms in India. It is likely to be powered by a hybrid petrol engine. The 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine will output 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of max torque. The fifth-generation Honda City sedan also has this particular engine.

Additionally, Honda has released a quick walkaround of the RDE-compliant 2023 Honda Amaze on YouTube. It comes with several adjustments to the front and rear of the vehicle. The 2023 Honda Amaze is powered by an RDE-compliant 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine that produces 88 horsepower and 110 Nm of peak torque. With new rules, all domestic automakers will need to upgrade the semiconductors to monitor the throttle, engine temperature, air intake pressure, crankshaft positions, programmed fuel injectors, and the composition of the exhaust emissions.
