It is not every day that one gets to compare the build quality of these two vehicles at the same time.
Here is a video of the aftermath of an accident between a 5th-gen Honda City and a Tata Nexon. For reference, the 5th-gen Honda City has scored a 5-star safety rating at the GNCAP. On the other hand, the Nexon is a well-known 5-star rated car. That is precisely the reason for its massive popularity. Also, both these products are segment leaders in their own respect. Let us check how well these two perform in this incident.

Honda City Suffers Far Lesser Damage Than Tata Nexon
This video has been uploaded on the YouTube channel of Raftaar 7811. He posts such cases in order to raise awareness among people regarding how well vehicles perform in such cases. In this video, a Nexon hits the City from behind. The details of how this happened are not available. But it seems like the driver of Honda City must’ve applied brakes suddenly and the driver of Nexon was not able to react timely. As a result, the front end of the compact SUV collides with the rear end of the mid-size sedan.

As far as the damages are concerned, the left rear bumper of the Honda City has sustained some minor dents and a broken taillamp. On the other hand, surprisingly, the front fascia of the Nexon has suffered some heavy damage. The bumper, bonnet, and taillights have broken. Shockingly, the front wheel of the Nexon has come out. This was not expected from a 5-star safety-rated vehicle. Nevertheless, we can’t judge the build quality of these vehicles based on an isolated incident, especially when there are not many details about how this happened.

Importance of Maintaining Safe Distance
Finally, we would like to draw the attention of our readers to the importance of following traffic regulations. Overspeeding continues to be the main cause of all unfortunate incidents on the road. Hence, that is one thing that we must always avoid. If we are driving at a reasonable speed, we have the chance to take control of the situation even if the other drivers on the road drive carelessly. Also, it’s highly important to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle at the front. This will allow the car ample time to slow down/come to a halt in a situation of panic braking. It’s highly recommended to maintain at least a 2-car length distance from the car at front. This becomes all the more important in case you’re traveling on a highway.
