New City continues with the same 1.5 Litre i-VTEC engine that produces 120 PS and a 1.5 Litre i-DTEC engine producing 100 PS. Verna gets three new engines including 1.5 Litre petrol and diesel engines along with a 1.0 Litre turbo petrol. The petrol engine and diesel engine produces 115 PS. Verna turbo produces 120 PS and 172 Nm of peak torque. Lastly, the Ciaz gets a 1.5 Litre petrol engine that is good for 104 PS.

The mileage of Honda City and Hyundai Verna Petrol is almost similar with just a difference of 0.1 kmpl. Ciaz is the leader here offering a claimed efficiency of 20.65 kmpl. Again, Ciaz is the best when it comes to petrol-automatic, followed by Verna and City. Verna Diesel-MT variants offer the best in class fuel efficiency, around 1 kmpl more than City. None of these offers a diesel-AT, that makes Verna the only one.
