This is the latest drag race competition between Honda City and Maruti Ciaz. Ciaz is an affordable mid-size sedan in our market from Maruti Suzuki, while the City is the segment leader. The latter has been the most popular product in the segment in addition to the Hyundai Verna. in its latest edition, City comes with a full-hybrid powertrain and a regular petrol version as well. For this race, the full-hybrid City takes on the mild-hybrid version of the Maruti Ciaz.

Honda City vs Maruti Ciaz Drag Race
This video has been uploaded by Pratham Shokeen on YouTube. Both cars are parked next to each other before the race. The team decides to set the parameters before the race which includes switching the Traction Control OFF, keeping the AC ON and putting the cars in their sportiest settings. For the first round, the Ciaz is at a slight disadvantage as there are 2 persons in it, while the City just has the driver. As soon as the race starts, the City zooms ahead and posts a healthy lead to win the round convincingly.

For the second round, the parameters are kept the same but the YouTuber from Ciaz shifts into City. Hence, City is at a disadvantage. However, what remains the same is the end result. But the competition was a bit stiff this time around. Still, the City emerged victorious nevertheless. For the final round, the AC was turned OFF and the driver of the Ciaz was replaced. The fight was tough but the City was crowned the champion overall.

Honda City e:HEV comes powered by a 1.5-litre Atkinson Cycle petrol hybrid engine with 2 electric motors powering the wheels. The total system output is a healthy 126 PS and 253 Nm of peak power and torque. It comes mated to an e-CVT automatic transmission and the ARAI-rated mileage stands at an impressive 26.5 km/l. On the other hand, the Ciaz comes with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 103 hp and 138 Nm of peak power and torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
