Remember the launch of Honda Jazz new model in August 2011 and the discounts of up to Rs. 1.75 lakhs offered on Jazz old model a month before that? A Similar kind of discount offers is likely to be introduces in coming few weeks as Honda SIEL India is expected to launch the Honda City 2011 new model in December 2011 instead of January 2012 as expected earlier. The new City was originally planned for November 2011 launch in India but because of unexpected floods in Thailand and parts shortage, it was delayed to Jan 2012, now it has been again re-scheduled for December 2011. In the event of a launch before the year end, Honda can club the year and discounts with the stock clearance discount and may offer as much as Rs. 1 Lakh off on the old model as per some expert estimates.

Now the bigger question which arises in the mind of many perspective buyers is –
Should I Buy Honda City i-VTEC Existing Model or Wait For New 2011 Facelift Model of Honda City?
For most buyers, the answer would be to wait for the new model, but if you are a value conscious buyer, you can avail the heavy discounts you are most likely to get by mid December 2011 and get yourself an existing model as there is no huge difference in terms of performance as the engine and transmission are the same, the changes are more of cosmetic only. One small downside however is the re-sale price difference between an older variant bought towards the end of the year costs lesser than a newer model bought at the beginning of the year. So if you think that you are getting a much better discount to compensate that difference you will get in your future re-sale, its better to get one for you by mid-December. On the other hand, if you are one of those buyers who always want new and better things, then for you its better to spend more money and get a new one as it will please you better in a longer run.
