Brands are always known for the Loyalties they set and their reputation among the customers. Being a major car brand it is difficult to ignore any flaws in the products. Honda the Japanese car major has recalled 8,532 models of its 2nd generation City because of a defective power window switch. The decision taken by the company was a Global decision being initiated by HSCI. The company’s Indian subsidiary, Honda Siel Cars India, on Saturday said it would “call back 8,532 units of second generation Honda City, manufactured in 2007, for a preventive part replacement of power window switch.”
The recall has been carried out after detecting potential problem of smoke coming out from the power window switch if water enters the driver window when it is left open during heavy rain or is exposed to any other liquid due to spillage.
Direct communication with the car owners will be made who have been covered for this part replacement and the replacement would be carried out free of cost. However the company said that the third generation does not faces such problems and is being sold in India currently.
Globally 6.46 lakh units have been recalled collectively of Honda city and Honda Jazz models after reports complaints were filed of the defective power window switches.
Company has said that the problem noted in the jazz has affected only the first generation Jazz and not the Second generation Jazz which is sold in India since June 2009.
