The BS6 Honda Livo has been launched with a price hike of over Rs 10,000 but for the money, Honda has thrown in quite a few updates to the Livo including new engine tech, features and new colors as well.
Honda has launched the 2020 BS6 Livo in India with its price now starting from Rs 69,422 (ex-showroom, Jaipur). The BS4 Honda Livo was priced at Rs 58,775 and although its a considerable hike in price, the BS6 Livo gets a host of updates which includes a BS6-compliant engine, new features and new colors as well. The BS6 Honda Livo has been launched in two variants – disc brake variant and drum brake variant – and Honda is yet to announce the detailed price list of the BS6 Livo.
The Livo is now powered by a BS6-compliant 110cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that now gets Honda’s enhanced smart power (eSP), Honda Eco Technology (HET) and an ACG starter motor which makes for quiet, smooth ‘engine-start’ operation. Like all other BS6 motorcycles, the Livo also gains a fuel injection system which not only improves fuel efficiency but also reduces emissions. For better efficiency, Honda has also reduced the friction that is generated in the engine.
There are a few new features on the BS6 Livo as well. This includes a new DC headlamp with a brighter beam, engine start/stop switch, pass switch and a service due indicator. The motorcycle also benefits from a significant cosmetic makeover which make it appear a lot more youthful than before. There’s a new headlamp cowl, a newly designed fuel tank that’s flanked by new tank shrouds and the instrument cluster is completely new as well and looks much cooler than before.

The 110cc engine on the Livo produces 8.8bhp and 9.3Nm of torque and the engine comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox. Honda has even thrown in a 5-step adjustable rear suspension and a longer and more comfortable seat as well. Although the disc brake variant is an optional extra, the combi-braking system comes standard on all variants of the Livo though. Honda offers a six-year warranty package on the Livo and dispatches to dealerships will begin this week itself. The BS6 Livo competes with the likes of the Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear, Hero Splendor iSmart, TVS Sport and Honda’s own CD 110 Dream.
