Honda Amaze with RS body kit spotted; Launch could happen in coming months
We reported in detail when Honda Cars India silently launched new flagship trim levels for the Amaze sedan and Brio hatchback. Now, it seems like the carmaker has been busy readying yet another trim for its compact sedan. Spotted recently at what seems to be a stockyard, the Amaze seems to have got a RS body kit, which means that the Honda Amaze RS launch could be very well in the pipeline. Much like the Honda Mobilio RS trim, which is available only on the diesel engine variant, the Amaze RS would get several exterior upgrades that would work together to bestow the cheapest Honda sedan on sale in the country with a touch of sportiness.

Features
As we just said, the Honda Amaze RS will come with a body kit, which would comprise of –
- Updated front and rear bumpers
- Side body mouldings
- Side skirts
- Large exhaust tip
- Boot lip spoiler
Price
While the Honda Amaze RS price in India would be announced only at the time of its launch, we reckon that it would command a premium of over INR 20-30,000 over the recently launched VX(O) trim.
Specs
As we said earlier, the RS trim is available only on the diesel engine variant of the Mobilio. Hence, there’s a slight probability that the RS trim might be launched only for the diesel engine option of the Amaze. In India, the Honda Amaze is being sold with a 1.5-litre iDTEC, four-cylinder oil burner that outputs a maximum power of 100 PS and peak torque of 200 Nm. This engine has won plenty of accolades for its high performance and fuel efficiency.
So far, in India, the Amaze has been able to post decent monthly sales figure, almost on a regular basis. However, thanks to the advent of fresher competition in the form of the Tata Zest, along with the fast approaching launch of the Maruti Dzire facelift, Honda could be planning to inject a dose of freshness into its compact sedan by doling out new variants of the Amaze.
