The most popular scooter in India, Honda Activa has completed 20 years of its existence in India. It is currently in its sixth generation.
Back in 2000, Honda 2 wheelers India launched a two wheeler which went on to become a huge brand name. Little did Honda know, after 20 years of its existence, Activa would still be the best selling two wheeler of all time. One of the earliest non-geared scooters that was launched in India has completed 20 years of service.
Honda Activa first generation was launched in 2000 and currently, it is now in its sixth generation. The second-gen was launched somewhere around 2009 which got a huge upgrade. Later came new generations every 2-3 years and the sixth generation is now the perfect scooter with many premium and important features.

With this stint, Honda has sold more than 2 crore units of Activa in India. This stint is achieved by no other scooter and the closest that anyone reached is done by Hero Splendor. To commemorate this special occasion, Honda has also launched the 20th-anniversary limited edition of the scooter, which receives some cosmetic upgrades.
Activa Anniversary Edition gets new Matte Brown and Pearl Nightstar Black colour options. It also gets black steel wheels, matching grab rails, black crankcase, 20th anniversary and special Golden colour Activa logo, new stripes on the front and brown seats as a part of upgrade. Other than that, it continues with the same features that come as earlier. It also continues with the same two variants – STD and Deluxe – priced at Rs 66,816 and Rs 68,316 (ex-showroom).
Activa gets a BS6 compliant 110cc engine fuel-injected engine that is capable of producing 7.68 BHP and 8.7 Nm of peak torque, paired with a CVT gearbox. It finally now gets telescopic suspension at the front, replacing the unit link suspension type. Features include LED headlamps, digital instrument cluster with riding range, USB charger, auto start-stop system and more.
