Ever since the arrival of the Mahindra Thar Roxx, we have also been spotting a few aftermarket players trying to create its replicas
In this latest instance, a homemade Mahindra Thar 5-door is spotted with gigantic aftermarket alloys. There are two aspects to this particular SUV – the uniquely modified vehicle into the Thar Roxx and distinct alloy wheels. Thar Roxx broke all records as it received over 1,76,000 orders only 1 hour after the bookings opened. That is a testament to how popular it has become among off-roading enthusiasts and the general public alike. With this overwhelming response, it will be interesting to see how Mahindra will take care of production and deliveries. For now, let us delve into the specifics of this latest incident.
Mahindra Thar 5-Door with Aftermarket Alloys
The details of this case emerge from aujla_guri84 on Instagram. The visuals capture a rather unique instance. I suppose this is the same homemade Mahindra Thar that I wrote about a few days ago. Some people have taken it to the aftermarket car shops to customize the regular 3-door Thar into a 5-door version. Obviously, this will be a makeshift arrangement where the mechanics will add a segment in the body to elongate the length. Apart from that, an entire section is added at the rear. The grille gives away the fact that this is the old Thar.
However, what is quite exciting is the new rugged alloy wheels. These are finished in black colour with low profile tyres. Such tyres are unlike the ones we normally see on SUVs. Still, the overall height of the SUV has been raised significantly with these. Also, to be honest, it looks like there is still some work left to be done on this Thar. At the moment, it looks very barebones, albeit with larger dimensions in comparison to the normal Thar. Looking at the comments section, people are having mixed reactions to this rare contraption.
My View
I must mention here that most aftermarket car modifications are illegal in our country. That is why it is critical to consult your local RTO before going for any customization. If a traffic Police professional catches you, they can fine you and ask you to remove the mods. With that out of the way, I am impressed by what aftermarket car shops are able to achieve. Since they have access to ideas and spare parts from all over the globe, they don’t fear going for the seemingly impossible. I shall keep bringing you more such reports in times to come.
