Check out this quick drag race between the fastest 160cc motorcycle, Hero Xtreme 160R and the more powerful Yamaha MT-15.
Yamaha MT-15 is the most powerful 150cc motorcycle, running on the same engine of R15 V3. Despite being a 150cc motorcycle, it is a segment above the other 150-160cc motorcycles. The recently launched Hero Xtreme 160R is now the fastest 160cc motorcycle, so here is quick drag race between both of them.
There are two round of the drag race. In the first one, you can see the Yamaha MT-15 taking an early lead. And in just a couple of seconds, MT-15 manages to go far away from Xtreme 160R. The top speed that you can see on MT-15’s speedometer is 130 km/hr while that on Xtreme is around 116 km/hr.

The second round sees rider’s changing their bikes and again, MT-15 takes a lead. In the second round, the MT-15 rider lets the Xtreme go ahead and tries to catch up. Very soon, the Yamaha motorcycle catches up and goes ahead easily. While the Xtreme will be the quickest 160cc motorcycle, MT-15 and R15 are the actual winners.
MT-15 is powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled engine that produces 18.4 PS and 14.8 Nm of peak torque. The BS6 emission norms reduced the power figures by nearly 1 PS. Xtreme on the other hand, produces 16 PS and 14 Nm of peak torque. So, there’s a 2.4 PS gap between both the motorcycles, which also gives us a clear winner.
However, the price difference between both of them is quite high. The MT goes for around Rs 1.4 Lakhs (Ex-showroom), whereas the Xtreme 160R is priced a maximum of Rs 1.03 Lakhs. If the seating posture is not a problem, then the best 150cc motorcycle in terms of performance is naturally the Yamaha R15 V3.
