Design patents of a new Hero commuter motorcycle known as Hunter have been leaked. The bike looks like a premium commuter, possibly, a 125cc model.
Hero is planning to launch another commuter in India to its already very long list of commuter motorcycles. Gaadiwaadi has leaked patent images of its new upcoming model, which is known as the Hunter.
Hero Motocorp has commuter segment as its strong point, purely because of the Splendor series. Hero Splendor is the best selling two-wheeler in India and has remained in that or either second position for the last decade or so.
Right now, it is lagging in the 125cc commuter segment, where Honda has success with the CB Shine. Hero has the Glamour for that range, but is a poor selling model. Reports suggest that the new Hero Hunter could well be a new 125cc motorcycle.

You get a sweeping fuel tank, a Pulsar-type headlamp cowl with a round headlamp and a normally styled tail lamp. On the fuel tank, you can see ‘Hunter’ written over it.
A recent study suggested that the 125cc motorcycle segment is declining because of its price range near to the 110cc motorcycles and the 150cc motorcycles. If noticed, only Honda CB Shine is getting some numbers while 125cc models of other brands are not doing great.
There can be another possibility of Hero bringing a new 125cc motorcycle is because of Bajaj entering the segment with its ultra-popular Pulsar. The 125cc Pulsar is likely to launch this year itself.

Reports suggest that it could also be a premium looking 110cc scooter, but it already has so many variants of Splendor. The i-Smart is a premium version of Splendor which is already doing good in India.
However, if the design patents of the new Hero Hunter have been leaked now, the launch is unlikely to happen this year. Probably, we can see a glimpse of the production version at the 2020 Auto Expo, with a launch later next year.
