With the BS6 update of the Hero Passion Pro, Hero has brought about styling changes, new colors and decals and even the i3S start-stop technology on the motorcycle.
With the BS6 emission norms deadline approaching, all manufacturers are gradually gearing up to launch BS6 complaint versions of their motorcycles and cars. Hero MotoCorp, the largest selling two-wheeler manufacturer in the country, launched their first BS6 motorcycle, the Splendor iSmart in November last year. Now, the company is gearing up to launch their second BS6 product in India and that is the 2020 Hero Passion Pro.
The Passion Pro is one of the best selling models of Hero MotoCorp and now, it does not seem far from its launch in BS6 guise. There have already been many reports about the imminent launch of this motorcycle and now, the first ever spy shots of the BS6 Passion Pro has surfaced on the internet. The motorcycle is completely undisguised in the images and its just not the BS6 update, but Hero has used this opportunity to introduced a lot of updates on the motorcycle.
As can be seen in the spy images, the BS6 Hero Passion Pro looks a lot more premium and upmarket than the BS4 spec motorcycle. There are slight revisions to the headlamp design and it gets a brand new fairing on either sides. The tank extensions actually make the motorcycle look sportier than it is and also makes it appeal to a younger customer base. The graphics and the lettering on the motorcycle have also been completely changed.
Along with the new tank extensions and decals, the fuel tank itself has been given some changes as well. What’s really catching the eye in these images is the new paint scheme. We expect Hero to offer some more quirky paint schemes with the BS6 Passion Pro. Unfortunately, we don’t have a complete image of the motorcycle with us but what’s for sure now is that the BS6 Passion Pro will look a lot better than the current model.

The BS6 Passion Pro will be powered by the same engine that powers the BS6 Splendor iSmart that the company launched some time ago. Its the first BS6 compliant 110cc engine in the country. In the Splendor iSmart, this fuel-injected single cylinder engine produces a maximum power of 9 bhp at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 9.89 Nm at 5,500 rpm. We do not have the exact specifications from this engine for the BS6 Passion Pro, but we expect the numbers to be largely identical.

The 2020 Hero Passion Pro BS6 will also get Hero MotoCorp’s i3S idle start-stop fuel-saving technology, just like the Splendor iSmart. The BS6 Passion Pro will thus come with better fuel efficiency than the BS4 spec motorcycle. The new motorcycle also gets a new chassis and so you can also perhaps expect better handling. Hero has utilized this opportunity very well to completely update the Passion Pro and it will certainly help the case of the motorcycle.
