With the launch of new electric scooters, Hero also plans to widen its base and plans to set up 1000 touchpoints by the end of 2020. Both the two-wheelers get 3 years warranty for both battery and scooter itself.
Hero Electric launched its new electric scooters, Optima ER and Nyx ER at a starting price of Rs 68,721 (ex. PAN India) and INR 69,754 (ex. PAN India) respectively. The electric scooters offer a range of 110 km and 100 km respectively.
Hero electric also launched its new corporate office in Bengaluru. And with this step, they want to diversify their operations and strategically plan new customer touchpoints. The manufacturer plans to set up 1000 touchpoints from 615 by the end of 2020.
Commenting at the occasion Mr. Sohinder Gill, CEO, Hero Electric India said, “We want to offer the best of Hero Electric products to all our customers. One feedback that we have constantly received was the range anxiety associated with e-scooters, and with the Nyx ER and Optima ER, we are addressing that issue and offering a package that is high on performance and usability. I am confident that customers will appreciate these additions alongside the FAME II benefits that have made our range even more affordable.”

Talking about the features onboard, both scooters comes with digital speedometer, telescopic suspension, LED Bulb, Lithium ion batteries and among others. It is the Hero Optima ER which is priced lower than the new Nyx ER and also comes with more features and driving range.
The Optima ER gets equipped with mobile charging, aerodynamic styling, anti theft with remote lock, 110 km battery range and is only available in two colour options. A matte red and a matte grey is an option.
Both Hero electric scooters get top speed of 42 kmph. Drive range of NYX ER is 100 kms. Both have the same battery capacity rating. 0-20 kmph is achieved in 8 seconds. Kerb wt of Optima ER is 83 kgs while that of NYX ER is 87 kgs. Both scooters come with 3 years warranty (battery + scooter).

Hero Electric also has extensive investment plans in the next three years to ramp up production capacity of its electric scooters to 5 lakh units annually. With the launch of Nyx ER, the company has extensive plans to introduce heavy duty products catering to myriad requirements of the B2B sector thereby expanding its offerings for the commercial segment. Hero electric products are best suited for commercial usage as they require lesser investment and have zero carbon emissions.
Hero Electric is in sync with the government’s vision to promote and foster the adoption of electric mobility in India and will invest in R&D to introduce technologically advanced products that India needs in order to make the switch from ICE vehicles.
