Like all other manufacturers, Hero Motocorp too have recorded a drop in sales by a 20.6% for August. Hero Motocorp is India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer.
Another month has gone down and automobile manufacturers continue to report about declining year-on-year sales. The slowdown in gravely affecting the automobile industry. It’s not just cars but motorcycles too have been seeing the same trend. India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero Motocorp sales report for August records a decline in year-on-year sales by 20.6%.
Hero Motocorp sold 543,406 units in August 2019, as compared to 685,047 units sold in August last year. Still, Hero managed to record a increase in volumes by 1.5% from what was sold in July this year. The slowdown has really impacted the manufacturers and while sales are at an all time low, Hero Motocorp has initiated a number of after-sales and service initiatives to keep their customers happy.
Hero has now started home delivery of all its new motorcycles and scooters to their customer’s doorstep from August this year. This service is currently in operation in three cities – Mumbai, Noida and Bangalore. Hero, however, plan to expand this service facility to 25 more cities over the next few months in a phased manner.

Additionally, Hero has also been offering special benefits for flood affected areas in Kerala, North Karnataka and South Maharashtra. These benefits include free check-ups and repair of vehicles, as well as a 30% discount on spare parts. These benefits can be availed from Hero Motocorp’s dealerships and service centers in the flood affected areas till September 10, 2019.

The government recently announced a number of measures to revive sales in the Auto Industry. The festive season will also be arriving very soon and customer buying sentiments are also expected to pick up gradually. Some OEMs are requesting the government to grant a temporary reduction in GST rates as well. Finally having taken some measures, we can expect the Auto Industry to start showing results in the coming months.
