For the first time on the internet, the new Hero Karizma XMR takes on the Yamaha R15 in a drag race. YouTubers often use the medium of drag races to compare the performances of two bikes these days. Karizma is the newest motorcycle in the market. It has carried a rich legacy in our country for 2 decades. Launched in 2003, it has been a popular product for a long time. However, it was discontinued later on due to a rise in competition. Finally, it is back to reclaim that throne. On the other hand, the Yamaha R15 is a bike which is revered by riding enthusiasts due to its driving dynamics. Let us see how well these two compete against each other on a drag strip.

Hero Karizma XMR vs Yamaha R15 Drag Race
This video comes from KSC Vlogs on YouTube. It captures the two bikes side by side. The vloggers begin the first round with pulled accelerator levers. Right from the beginning, the Karizma takes a significant lead. Interestingly, it is able to maintain that lead for the entire race and wins round one. For the second round, the riders decide to swap bikes. This ensures that the driver-specific issues are resolved and consistent results are obtained. However, the result remained the same. The Karizma zooms past the R15 right from the word go and the latter is unable to catch it thereafter. Therefore, the Karizma is the clear winner of this drag race.
Specs Comparison
Hero Karizma comes with a 210-cc liquid-cooled 4V DOHC engine generating 25.5 PS @9,250 RPM and 20.4 Nm @7,250 RPM of peak power and torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission with slip and assist clutch. A dual-channel ABS is standard. The bike is constructed from a Trellis frame and has a 300 mm disc and the front and 230 mm at the rear. On the other hand, the R15S has a 155-cc liquid-cooled 4V SOHC engine which develops a decent 18.6 PS and 14.1 Nm of peak power and torque. There are disc brakes on both tyres. It weighs 142 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 11 litres. Hence, the Karizma has a clear advantage.
What We Think
Lately, YouTubers have embraced a popular trend of using drag races to evaluate and compare the performance of different bikes. It is important to recognize, though, that relying solely on drag races for these assessments may not be the wisest choice. The concern arises from the fact that drag races can potentially cause lasting damage to motorcycles, as the majority of bikes are not engineered for prolonged high-speed, straight-line runs. Given this, we highly advise against attempting drag races with your own automobiles. In practice, most individuals don’t ride their bikes in such an extreme manner due to safety concerns and the risk of potential harm to their vehicles.
