At the ongoing INRSC (Indian National Rally Sprint Championship), the Hero MotoCorp team is participating new rally motorcycle.
Hero MotoCorp has come up with a new rally bike. It has been spotted at the ongoing INRSC (Indian National Rally Sprint Championship) in Bengaluru. In addition to the race-spec XPulse 200 4V Rally, the Hero MotoCorp team is also racing with the new rally motorcycle. Both bikes are being driven by multiple racers. The company is using the championship as a testing ground for the new bike. The 400cc bike might be positioned as the next Himalayan Rival.

Hero 420cc Rally Motorcycle Participates in Group A Category of INRSC
As you can see in the pics we have, the new rally motorcycle features a long wheelbase and a tall seat height. An extra-long side stand has been added. It also sports a new liquid-cooled engine. The new bike has a mono-shock suspension on the back. However, it has disc brakes at both ends. Additional highlights include a flat headlamp casing with LED light, flat handlebar with brace pad, knuckle guards, raised front fender, fortified front forks, wire-spoke wheels, knobby off-road tires, compact fuel tank, slim seat design, and under-seat exhaust.

At INRSC, the Hero Rally Bike participated in the Group A category (for 400cc and above capacity bikes). It is said to be powered by a 420cc capacity engine. The company’s new 400cc-450cc platform is likely to bring more products including a dual-sport bike and an Xtreme sports bike. The new middleweight bike will underpin the company’s upcoming ADV. It will compete with the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM 390 ADV, etc. Hero might also be able to match Royal Enfield’s performance and affordability.

Hero Registers Best Ever Performance in Dakar 2023
Previously, Hero rally bikes have performed quite well at various national and international events. At Dakar 2023, the Hero motorsport team registered its best-ever performance. This includes two stage wins, a top-10 overall finish, and a stage podium. It remains to be seen if the new 420cc bikes can match the performance of its race-ready 200cc platform. The company is definitely bringing more power and torque to the table. We might also see new hi-tech features.

Recently, there has been significant growth in the middleweight bike segment in India. The younger generation has made such bikes quite mainstream now. The improved roads have further helped the biking culture in the country. Hero is clearly planning to jump into this segment with the new rally bike. The upcoming bike is likely to be called Xpulse 420cc. It will be launched next year. Test mules have already been spotted at multiple locations.
