It consists of two controls – Hill Hold and Descent control – the latter available in only premium cars. There are some budget cars like Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and such will still get the Hill Hold Control.

For that purpose, the hill hold control comes into play. It ensures that your car does not go backwards on a slope.
As you can see, he driver has a manual car. Once the car wants to resume driving on the slope, you just have to hold on to your clutch without putting any pressure on the accelerator. For just a second or two, or a metre or so, the car will go back and will automatically starting going forward.

As far as the hill descent works, it controls the speed limit when going through a downward slope. Even if you do not apply the brake, it will keep the speed under 15 km/hr.
