Bajaj and Triumph are going to launch affordable motorcycles in the coming year. Here is a digital imaginative rendering of it.
A couple of months back, Bajaj and Triumph disclosed that they have entered into a partnership. They also hinted that many motorcycles are going to come from their stable, some of them will be very affordable. This will mainly benefit Triumph, as it will venture in the affordable premium motorcycle segment, which is the new trend.
As you can see here, this rendering of the Bajaj Triumph motorcycle looks inspired by the Bonneville series. You get the same retro-classic look with simple alloys, round circular headlamp, a neat fuel tank and the classic roadster appeal. You can also spot the DTS-i branding on the engine.

The partners have also hinted that their first motorcycle will be a roadster with retro-modern appeal. It will be manufactured at Bajaj’s Chakan plant but will have Triumph branding. The designing and engineering all will be done by Triumph itself. The main work of Bajaj will be to use localized parts and reduce the overall cost.
The Bajaj Triumph motorcycle will get a single-cylinder engine that should be under 300-400cc. Chances are that it could also be a 200cc engine on which both the companies are working together. Starting with a small displacement motorcycle, later the company will also offer small twin-cylinder bikes.
With this partnership, Bajaj can further expand in the premium motorcycle category. As of now, the flagship Bajaj motorcycle is Dominar which has received a decent response so far. It has also launched the Dominar 250 with the engine from KTM Duke 250. The latter is priced at Rs 1.60 Lakhs (Ex-showroom).

Bajaj has updated most of its motorcycles with a BS6 compliant engine. All of them saw a considerable price hike because of the fuel injection now being a standard fitment. Their first motorcycle will be launched by 2022 and will definitely be priced under Rs 2 Lakhs.
