We keep coming witnessing insanely customized SUVs and this Mahindra Scorpio N is a prime example of that
I came across an excessively modified Mahindra Scorpio N recently. Scorpio has been an iconic nameplate in our country for close to 2 decades now. The Indian auto giant launched the premium off-roading 3-row version of the regular SUV and named it the Scorpio N. Those who still want the original version can opt for the Scorpio Classic. In the last few years, we have seen so many car owners heading to the aftermarket car shops to customize their vehicles. The aim is to enhance the road presence and make their cars stand out from the crowd. That is why we see so many unique SUVs on the roads. For now, let us take a look at the details of this recent case.
Modified Mahindra Scorpio N
This instance stems from auto.war on Instagram. At the front, it gets a cut-out bumper which off-roading SUVs often use to increase the approach angle of their vehicles. Also, such bumpers enable the possibility of installing a functional winch which can be immensely useful during off-roading scenarios. The extreme edges of this bumper house aftermarket fog lamps. On the sides, we get to experience ginormous alloy wheels with off-road-focused tyres. Interestingly, the wheel arches have been painted in body colour.
Also, there are two dedicated side steps to enhance the ingress and egress characteristics of the passengers. On the top, there is a rugged luggage carrier with a ladder on the quarter glass. Finally, the rear section contains a roof-mounted spoiler, a high-mount stop lamp, a rugged bumper with a tow hook and a new bootlid-mounted spare tyre. All these elements ensure that the SUV bears an imposing road presence. Also, these make it one of the most unique Mahindra Scorpio N SUVs you will come across.
My View
There are innumerable instances of hardcore off-roading modifications on prominent SUVs. However, I must mention here that most of these are illegal in India. Therefore, I would urge our readers to consult their local RTOs before going for such customizations. It will ensure that you don’t get in trouble with the traffic cops later on. Still, if you use it as a passion project or in some remote area away from the rules and regulations of a city, then you can certainly go ahead. In any case, I shall keep an eye out for more such cases in times to come.
