Renowned cricketer and youth icon Hardik Pandya will be seen leading the brand campaign for the Tata Punch-rivalling Hyundai Exter
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), the country’s second-largest carmaker and largest exporter since inception, has announced cricketer-Hardik Pandya as the brand ambassador for Hyundai Exter. Pandya, who has been a renowned sportsman and a youth icon, will be seen leading the brand campaign for the carmaker’s first-ever micro-SUV. For the uninitiated, the Exter will launch next month and lock horns with the likes of Tata Punch and Citroen C3.

Hyundai Exter Features and Specs
Hyundai Exter gets some remarkable safety features. It will have segment-first dual dashcam and standard 6 airbags across all variants. Other highlights of the equipment list include digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, ventilated seats, and a large infotainment screen with connectivity features. Some of the available images even reveal a single-pane electric sunroof and a dual-tone body paint. This means the Exter will soon become one of the most affordable cars in India to offer a sunroof.

The upcoming SUV has two engine options that comply with the BS6 Phase-2 standards and support E20 blended fuel. The regular versions will have a 82 hp-115 Nm 1.2L VTVT 4-cylinder petrol engine. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. Also, the micro SUV will be available with a CNG option right from its market launch. However, expectedly, the alternative fuel variant misses out on the AMT. The Tata Punch-rival could even receive a 1.0L 3-cylinder T-GDi turbo petrol engine at a later stage. The low-displacement turbo-petrol mill produces 99 hp of power and 172 Nm of torque.
