The much anticipated trailer of the mega-popular game, GTA 6 (Grand Theft Auto), has finally dropped. Just a day before the official trailer was launched on the YouTube channel of Rockstar Games, the trailer was leaked online. As per some reports, it already had over 11 million views within the first couple of hours. Now, the official trailer on Rockstar Games’ YouTube channel has over 44 million views in just 7 hours. That, alone, is a testament to the popularity of this video game. Let us check out the details here.

GTA 6 Game Trailer
The last instalment of the game, GTA 5 was launched a decade ago in 2013. The gaming community was eagerly waiting for the 6th edition of this iconic game. Just for reference, GTA 5 is the second best-selling video game of all time with over 190 million copies sold worldwide. It is behind only Minecraft from Microsoft which sold over 300 million copies, as per CNBC. In addition, Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive expects that GTA 6 would generate a jaw-dropping $8 billion in net bookings by 2025. This is an indication of the potential, scope and reach of this open-world game.

Rockstar Games confirms that the launch of the GTA 6 will be for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S in 2025. However, there are no reports about this game arriving for PC Gaming. This is a sad news for the PC Gaming community. But it is possible that by the time the game launches in 2025, there could be a solution for that. In a statement, Rockstar Games informed, “Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet.”

New Characters
The one aspect which is significantly distinct in this edition of the game is the female protagonist, Lucia. At the beginning of the trailer, she is seen inside a prison. In subsequent scenes, she and her boyfriend are teaming up for some incredible action. It is evidently inspired by the Bonnie and Clyde-style heists in Vice City. Needless to say, the wait of over a decade has finally paid off and the gaming community is currently in a frenzy. We shall have to keep an eye out for further developments in this series going forward.
