Technical Specifications of Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid
Engine Of Cayenne S Hybrid
The Cayenne S Hybrid, features a 3.0 litre supercharged V6 mpfi engine along with an electric motor. The supercharged petrol engine generates 333 hp while the 34 kW (47 hp) electric motor contributes to the performance at lower torque and consolidating the power generated by these 2 units in one, the total comes out to be a whopping 380 bhp and peak torque of 580 Nm/427 lb-ft merely at 1,000 rpm, which is very much comparable to that of Cayenne S with its V8 power unit. A separator clutch has been essentially used to connect the 2 drive units governed by the Hybrid Manager and this separator clutch is important to make the Cayenne S Hybrid run either on its electric motor or petrol engine, or with both drive units operating together. Coming to energy consumption ,new Cayenne S Hybrid covers shorter distances on electric drive and can reach the mark of 60 km/h or almost 40 mph with the same units alone.
The electric motor provides additional thrust when the engine starts through its boosting effect which eventually improves the acceleration of the car and the separator clutch makes switching between the different driving modes quicker and easier. Full disengagement of the petrol engine from the other drive train can be ensured once the car reaches a speed of 156km/h with the petrol engine being turned off. And this feature eventually decreases the fuel consumption of the car.
Fuel Consumption
The car impressively delivers a fuel consumption of 8.2 litres/ 100 Km (equal to 34.4 mpg imp) and emits 193 g/km of CO2 into the surrounding.
Transmission of Cayenne S Hybrid
A new Tiptronic S 8-speed Automatic Transmission with Auto Start Stop along with a wide spectrum of gear ratios.
Interiors
Extra space and greater variability as per the 40mm longer wheelbase and 48mm increment in overall length is being promised by the car maker. Above all the brand-new, high-quality interior embedding the centre console which reaches to the front with gearshift lever, provides the interior the typical appearance of a cockpit dashboard and with the rear-seat bench moving fore-and-aft by 160 millimeters or 6.3”along with the backrest angle which could be adjusted to 3 different settings, the car offers class apart comfort level.
Other Features
- A thermal management of the engine and transmission cooling circuit
- An on-board network recuperation
- Variable engine cut-off
- Intelligent lightweight construction
- Lighter Body as compared to the current car.
Specifications of Porsche Cayenne ( Diesel, Turbo & Cayanne S)
The Cayenne Diesel variant sports the previous 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine from Audi developed to generate 240 hp (176 kW) and 550 Newton-metre (405 lb-ft) with a fuel consumption of 7.4 ltr/100 km (equal to 30.4 mpg imp now improving to 38.2 mpg imp).
On the other hand Cayenne S develops 400 hp now (previous model had 385 hp) through its 4.8-litre V8 engine and consumes 10.5 litres/100 kilometres (equal to 26.9 mpg imp).
Another model to be considered is the Flagship model Cayenne Turbo which would generate 500 hp delivered by the 4.8-litre V8 biturbo engine while burning just 11.5 ltr/100 km (equal to 27.6 mpg imp) in the New European Driving Cycle being 23 per cent less than its predecessor (14.9 ltr/100 km or 19.0 mpg imp).
