At the 80th Geneva International Motor Show this year Subaru will showcase two different cars, which will certainly lead to new innovations since these cars are wonders in themselves. The cars feature not only technologically innovative aspect but environmental friendliness as well.
The cars include Hybrid Subaru Tourer Concept and Subaru Stella EV.
Subaru Hybrid Tourer Concept
The Tourer concept will debut at the Swiss Expo and is one revolutionary car which is world’s First Boxer Hybrid and features Symmetrical All Wheel Drive. Subaru’s design DNA is impressive, providing the car with a spacious cabin, gull wing doors and attractive sculpted body.
B-pillars are absent which leaves the car with enough space on the interior eventually offering a treat for the occupants since they get less obstructed view of the surroundings. The swept-back panoramic windscreen and a height-adjustable dashboard makes it more convenient for the driver, ensuring full comfort.
The revolutionary hybrid system includes Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and a 2.0-litre horizontally-opposed, Direct-Injection, Turbocharged petrol ‘Boxer’ engine, couples with 2 electric motors and Subaru is the only car maker to locate these two features in one Hybrid powertrain. The electric motors will be powered by 2 Lithium-ion batteries one 20 KW at the rear and the other 10 KW one in the front.
The whole powertrain system is unique it its own way since when the car is running in cruising condition Direct Injection petrol engine is used and rear electric motor is used in case of lower speeds and at startup. On the other hand the forward electric unit, is used as a power generator which is installed to assist performance and efficiency while managing stability at inclined surfaces. Subaru’s in-house designed Lineartronic automatic transmission has been coupled with the powertrain which further boosts the fuel efficiency and driving performance of the car.
Stella EV
Now jumping off to the next car we have Stella EV which is another environment friendly car featuring Lithium Ion batteries which has a range of 90 kilometers after every charge which gets charged to 80% of its capacity in not more than 15 minutes when switched to Quick Charging System. Under normal conditions the car gets fully charged in five hours when using an AC240V power outlet.
Subaru – BOXER Diesel Technology
A number of Boxer diesel models will be put on display emphasizing on the Horizontally-Opposed engine technology and include Impreza, Forrester, Legacy and Outback models which are currently sporting the unique-to-Subaru 2.0-litre diesel engine configuration, offering both improved fuel economy and a low centre of gravity.
