Chevrolet India has officially announced a price increase in one of their cars Chevrolet Beat Diesel in India and along with it indicated an expected price increase of up to 2% in some other their other cars which will be applicable from January 2012. We expect a higher side price rise in Chevrolet Cruze as it is a popular car, also Chevrolet Tavera and maybe some slight increase in the rest of their car portfolio in India.

A 2% Increase in a car priced at close to Rs. 13 lakhs (Cruze) would mean about Rs. 25,000 hike in price which is still ok for this segment. We are not much surprised by this announcement as almost all car makers in India are going to follow a similar kind of price hike which is an expected trend in India towards the end of the year and beginning of a new calendar year.
