Skoda owners are getting fake calls from fraudsters claiming that they got the numbers from Skoda dealerships. It is, unfortunately, a rather common phenomenon where these pranksters try to reach new people to sell them something or devise ways to get money from them in some way. It is only when the carmaker announces such abnormal activities that people get to know that these are fake calls to cheat them in some way. Here are the details of this latest fraud alert.

Skoda Owners Receive Fake Calls
An official announcement by Skoda reads- “It has come to our attention that fraudulent calls are being made to various members from certain persons of the public providing reference of Authorized SKODA Dealerships as a source of providing mobile Numbers. The callers are making fake promotional calls informing customers that attendees present at the Promotion event at Luxurious Hotel/resort will be provided with free vouchers for family lunch/ dinner or a free stay at resorts and are offering membership at a very low cost.”

The report further says, “We wish to inform you that neither SKODA nor its Dealership is making such calls. Such persons/ companies are also wrongfully using the name of SKODA Dealership and SKODA for misleading the Public. We request the members of the public not to react or respond to such calls as neither SKODA nor its Dealership promotes such calls. Any dealing made by any persons shall purely be at their risk and SAVWIPL or SKODA Dealership shall not be liable to such persons for any such amounts paid by them.”

Not to mention, no kind of details must be handed out to unknown callers. They could even ask for your personal information claiming that they are calling from Skoda. Remember, Skoda would not ask for your personal details like your bank account, CVV, OTP or any such info.
