Ford is getting a positive curve on sales after the launch of its new small car Ford Figo. Ford is making these cars at its assembly plant at Chennai and will be increasing the production by adding more workers and running one additional shift for production of Ford Figo. Ford has sold over 7000 Figos in March 2010 alone and its just the month of its launch.
The second shift is expect to start around July 2010. This will need additional workforce of about 700 workers for Ford Plant, so the hiring will go on a full swing. The sales of Figo is going strong with more demand for premium variants rather than base variants of the car. There is a waiting period of about 1 month for the delivery of the car at present which is expected to reduce as the production is increased by about 40% post July 2010.
