In another service fraud, Ford technicians cut the ABS sensor and harness wire and call it “rat-bite”. Ford has been overwhelmed by the complaints of customers regarding various issues for quite some time. This includes things like DPF issue in the diesel cars, shutting down of dealerships and poor service experience. The situation has been exacerbated after the American auto giant announced that it will end manufacturing cars in India entirely. Now, the service centres have a free hand in doing whatever they want, at least that is how it looks at the moment. In a complaint posted by a Ford car owner on the Team BHP customer forum, he explains this bizarre set of events. Let us take a look at it in detail.

Ford Service ABS Wire Fraud
The EcoSport owner experienced the ABS malfunction error symbol when he had to take a beaten road due to a blocked highway. As he saw the warning sign which asked him to visit the service centre, he scheduled an appointment after diagnosing the problem. Upon inspecting the SUV, the technician discovered that the ABS sensor and harness wire were damaged. They also informed the owner that it could be due rat bite. When the owner insisted on checking the damaged part, he found that the wire seemed to have been perfectly cut as by some trained professional. He asked for CCTV footage where he found a technician approaching the SUV with a set of pliers. The photos attached by the EcoSport owner also suggested a precise cut on the wire which couldn’t possibly be a rat bite.

He threatened to lodge an official complaint to Ford and Court. On sensing danger, the Ford dealership offered to waive off the Rs 2710 amount from the subsequent bill. However, this did not please the owner who wants to lodge a police complaint too. This is a clear case of cheating and fraud which leads to harassment of the customers for no fault of their own. Such actions must be brought to light to ensure that the dealerships and service centres don’t have a free hand in anything they do. The service fraud of Ford by cutting the ABS sensor wire is a slap in the face of the commitment Ford makes to take care of its valued customers.
