The highly anticipated new Ford Endeavour was recently seen on a flatbed in Chennai. However, a new set of pics that we’ve got shows something even more interesting. Other than the Everest (Endeavour), even the Ranger pickup was seen. Both these were possibly en route to ARAI for homologation. Amidst the buzz surrounding Ford’s re-entry into the Indian market, the company has successfully trademarked the names for the new Everest and a mid-size SUV. Recent reports suggest ongoing negotiations between Ford and Tata Motors for a potential joint venture. While Ford divested its Sanand (Gujarat) plant to Tata Passenger Electric Mobility for Rs 725 Crore, it still retains ownership of the Chennai plant, boasting an annual manufacturing capacity of 150,000-200,000 cars and 350,000 engines. Let’s delve into the specifics of this exciting development.

New Ford Endeavour and Ranger Pickup Arrive in India!
The latest visuals of the renowned SUV and the pickup sibling capture the duo in a totally camo-free avatar. Our sources indicate that the vehicles were seen in the vicinity of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. If and when launched, the Everest will be marketed as the Endeavour and take on the Toyota Fortuner. Meanwhile, the Ranger makes for a great Toyota Hilux adversary. With a slowly-but-steadily growing interest in powerful pickup trucks, the Ranger will make for a good addition to Ford India’s portfolio. Even though the high price, especially if it comes through the CBU route, will keep it from becoming a volume-seller, it would still make for a fantastic halo product.

Alongside the Everest, Ford has officially patented a mid-size SUV set to rival the Hyundai Creta. Auto enthusiasts may recall Ford’s previous collaboration with Mahindra, where plans for an SUV in this category, based on the Mahindra XUV500, were conceived but never materialized after Ford’s exit from India. Recent reports of a potential joint venture with Tata Motors suggest a revival of these plans. Additionally, Ford might introduce the renowned Mustang Mach-E through the CBU route, targeting the elite class seeking a performance-oriented electric vehicle.
