The Ford Mustang facelift will continue to be powered by a naturally aspirated, 5.0 liter V8 engine in India but now produces more power and it gets several styling and features upgrade too.
The Ford Mustang is one of the most iconic sportscars on the road and certainly one of the most affordable options to lay your hands on a sportscar in India. The current sixth-generation iteration of this legendary pony car has been on sale in India for quite some time now. Internationally, the Mustang has been updated with a facelift for quite some time. Ford is finally going to bring the Mustang facelift to India in around April next year.
You’d be happy to know that the thumping heart of the Ford Mustang still remains a naturally aspirated, 5.0 Liter, V8 engine. While the world is obsessing electric cars, nothing quite beats the soul of a big capacity, naturally aspirated engine. You’d be even happier to know that the engine now produces more power than before – 450 bhp, up from the previous 415 bhp.
However, the bigger news is that Ford will be replacing the 6-speed torque converter gearbox in the current with a new 10-speed automatic gearbox. The old 6-speed unit was critiqued to be quite slow and was the only down side of the pony car. This new 10-speed unit has been critically acclaimed in the international markets well.

There are new air vents on the bonnet and the grille has also been redesigned to form a slimmer, sleeker unit. The Mustang facelift also gets redesigned headlamps and a completely new bumper with better aero efficiency as well. At the rear, the car gets a redesigned bumper and diffuser. The visual changes aren’t that extensive but you can tell the differences and if gives a fresh look the car as well.

The new Mustang also gets three additional exterior paint shades – blue, orange and red – and gets a new 19-inch alloy wheel design, which is available in three finishes. On the inside, there’s a new 12.0-inch LCD instrument display and a more generous use of soft-touch plastics on the centre console and doors. The basic dashboard layout remains identical but in terms of features, the car now gets LED lights as standard and also adaptive cruise control. Expect more details about the India-bound Ford Mustang to surface closer to its market launch and price announcement.
