Ford India is clocking spectacular sales numbers with its car portfolio in India. Ford Figo is the flagship car for such a success of Ford in India and even to other countries like Mexico, South Africa and Nepal where Ford exports Figo. As per the latest official sales data from Ford, it sold 42,395 wholesale and export vehicles from January to April 2011 – clocking an impressive year-on-year growth of 83 percent during the same period last year when it sold 23,115 units.
Increasing customer interest in its products has driven Ford India to maintain a healthy momentum this year. Ford India also stirred up the action in the B-segment with two significant products – the classy and affordable Ford Fiesta Classic and the premium and aspirational all-new global Ford Fiesta 2011.
Michael Boneham, president and managing director of Ford India quoted:
“The year so far has been encouraging as evident from our year-to-date sales of over 40,000 units including exports, from Jan-April 2011. With Ford products generating a lot of interest we are excited as we introduce more global products in the Indian market. We are encouraged to see our all-new global Fiesta receive a great response during its unveiling recently.”
