Ford Freestyle might get minor feature updates along with a new ‘Ruby Red’ paint scheme. The cross-hatch was launched in April 2018 and already gets an update. The updated Freestyle might launch sometime soon, in the festive season.
The latest Ford car to launch in India is the Ford Freestyle. It is a cross-hatchback and takes on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Celerio X and the recently launched Tata Tiago NRG. After its launch in April, Ford is likely to give a minor update with a new ‘Ruby Red’ paint scheme.
Also, Ford has hiked the prices of the Freestyle and the revised prices apply on certain variants.
The Freestyle is based on the Figo and basically gets a rugged appearance, body kits and increased ride height. The prices of the cross-hatch now start at Rs 5.23 Lakhs and go up to Rs 7.89 Lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi).

The Ford website shows the updated prices of Freestyle, but the feature updates and new colour are not mentioned yet.
It is most likely to get body-coloured ORVMs, adjustable rear passenger headrests along with the new ‘Ruby Red’ colour.
Recently, there were some rumours also that the Ford Freestyle might soon get an automatic variant too. It currently runs on the 5-speed manual gearbox and does not offer an automatic transmission.

The Freestyle, with this minor update, will continue with the same 1.2 Litre petrol engine and the 1.5 Litre diesel engine. The petrol engine produces around 94 BHP of power and 120 Nm of torque. The diesel engine gives 99 BHP of max. power and 215 Nm of peak torque. As said, both the variants only get a manual gearbox.
The mileage claimed on the diesel engine goes up to 24 kmpl and that on the petrol engine is around 19 kmpl. Ford’s 1.5 Litre diesel engine is one of the torquiest engines for hatchbacks.

The Ford Freestyle is based on the Figo but gets many more features than that. It gets, 6.3-inch SYNC3 Touchscreen Infotainment System, Automatic Climate Control, Automatic Headlamps, Rain-Sensing Wipers, Push Button Start-Stop, 12-V Power Socket, Tilt-Adjustable Steering Wheel, Steering Mounted Audio Controls, Voice Commands and Electrochromic Day and Night IRVM.
The safety features onboard include ABS with EBD, Dual Front Airbags, Reverse Parking Sensors with a camera, Active Roll-over preventions, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control System and Side and Curtain airbags (top-variant only).
Also, these features will most likely come in the upcoming Ford Aspire facelift too, which is going to launch in early October.
