Ford Freestyle is all ready to be launched, as the launch dates have been scheduled starting from 18th April. However, some of the company dealerships have already begun the booking of the car despite no official confirmation from Ford.
Ford Freestyle is set to debut the Indian roads as some of the company dealerships have started taking booking amounts of Rs 30,000. According to reports by Overdrive, the date has been scheduled on 18th April. The CUV – Compact Utility Vehicle – will come in four variants in diesel and petrol versions. Ford Freestyle is estimated to cost between Rs 5.5 Lakh and Rs 8.5 Lakh (ex-showroom) according to the different variants.
Ford Freestyle will come in four variants – Ambiente, Trend, Titanium, and Titanium +. All variants feature ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors, and rear fog lamp as standard fitment. The top end Titanium+ gets side and curtain airbags, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, Ford MyKey and Active Rollover Prevention with Hill Launch Assist, Traction control, and ESP.

The Ford Freestyle gets a new 1.2 L 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 96 PS and 120 Nm. The estimated mileage of the petrol variant is 19 kmpl. The diesel variant is powered by Figo’s 1.5 L TDCi unit developing 100 PS and 215 Nm. The estimated mileage of the diesel variant is 24.4 kmpl. Both engines are paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Buyers will have the option to get roof wrap or racing stripe running along the pronounced hood, roof and rear bumper. Also, there is an option of the crossbars for the roof rails that will add weight up to 50kg. While the new 15-inch alloy wheels are standard on the Titanium and Titanium+ trims, these will be optional on the lower variants.

Although placed between Figo and Ecosport, Ford Freestyle copies many components of both of the cars. The car also is known as CUV – Compact Utility Vehicle – will compete with cross variants like Hyundai i20 Active, Toyota Etios Cross, Fiat Aventura and Volkswagen Polo Cross. Priced decently under Rs 10 Lakh, Ford Freestyle is awaited by a lot of adventure loving people.
