Ford is committed to have a strong road map in India in the coming years. Ford has launched its best seller small car Ford Figo in Indian in 2010 and it has clocked good amount of sales in India and has also won a lot of prestigious awards along the journey. Ford has earlier expressed that it will launch a total of 7 cars in the next 3.5 years, which means one new launch almost every six months along various car segments. One of the strongest contenders for the next launch after 2011 Ford Fiesta seems to be Ford Focus Sedan. The 2012 Ford Focus which may debut in India in 2012 has also been designed on the new kinetic design language of Ford and looks like a good competition to cars like Chevrolet Cruze, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla Altis, Renault Fluence etc. in the price bracket of up to Rs. 15 Lakhs.
Ford Focus has all it takes to be a strong competition to the existing luxury sedans in India. It has got modern and sharp as well as sleek styling of new Ford cars, spacious interiors, powerful engine, Ford’s great handling characteristics as well as sophistication which car buyers seek in this segment.
Although Ford top management did not confirm its launch in India during the recent deep drive event at Bangalore in June 2010, but they also did not rule out the possibility of Focus coming to India. With Ford’s new approach of launching similar cars in almost all world’s markets, its quite likely that Focus will hit Indian shores next year. Also 2012 will be an action packed year as the Auto Expo 2012 will be held in January 2012 in India which is a favorite time for most Indian automaker to release their new and upcoming launches.
