April 2011 is the month of price increase of cars in India. Almost all auto majors in India including – Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Toyota India, Mahindra and Mahindra, Honda SIEL etc. have all announced price increase of many of their car models effective from April 2011. Ford has also followed this trend under the same reasons which most of the Automakers in India are facing, which is the rise in the input costs. Ford India has increased the prices of its most selling car in India, the popular small car from Ford – The Ford Figo. This price rise is not a major one in magnitude but may impact sales of the Figo to a small percentage, but since the Ford Figo is not the only car with the increased prices, its not a major disadvantage as well.
