Fresh reports now suggest that Ford is now bringing the automatic version of Figo after it was discontinued due to the BS6 norms.
In the BS4 era, Ford sold the automatic variants of Figo and Aspire with a different engine. Both of them got the 1.5 Litre petrol engine exclusively with the torque converter automatic gearbox. However, due to the BS6 norms, Figo and Aspire lost out their automatic variants as well as this 122 BHP engine.
Fresh media reports suggest that Ford is relaunching the Figo Petrol automatic in India by August. However, it won’t come paired with the 1.5 Litre petrol engine, rather going with the Dragon Petrol unit. The 1.2 Litre three-cylinder motor that powers Figo, Freestyle and Aspire produces 96 BHP and 120 Nm of peak torque.

The torque converter AT will be cheaper to maintain and offer generous amounts of low-end torque. The 6-speed unit is borrowed from the Ford EcoSport. We have driven the Ecosport AT which is not enthusiastic to drive but very relaxed and comfortable. Other than that, it will get a 5-speed MT.
We are not sure if the same AT will also come on Aspire and Freestyle, since both of them get the same petrol engine as well. If this thing happens, it will be the first time for Freestyle to get an automatic. All three of them get the same 1.5 Litre diesel engine that produces 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed MT.
As of now, the prices of Ford Figo petrol commence at Rs 5.49 Lakhs up to Rs 7.05 Lakhs. Possibly, Figo automatic will be offered in two variants demanding around Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 more than manual variants. The diesel variants start off at Rs 7.15 Lakhs up to Rs 8.15 Lakhs (all prices ex-showroom).

While Figo may not be the best selling hatchback in its segment, it surely has its own fan following. Recently, it got a BS6 upgrade which made minor cosmetic changes too. However, with that, Figo and Aspire lost a couple of important features which is not liked by many. You still get the basic features that also come on its rivals. But only on the top-spec trims.
