The Ford Figo facelift is likely to launch in India sometime during the second half of this year. It is going to feature a new 1.2-litre Dragon petrol engine.
With the launch of the 2018 Maruti Swift, the competition in the compact hatchback segment has tightened up quite a lot. Currently, the only major challenge to the Swift comes from the Hyundai Grand i10 and the Ford Figo. With the former getting its update last year, it is about time that Ford introduces facelift for the Figo Hatchback. Looks like Ford India is currently working on just that. Curtsey Team-BHP, a new spy shot of the Ford Figo Facelift has surfaced on the internet. The most noteworthy thing here is that the vehicle in the spy image is essentially the Ford Ka+.
The Ford Ka+ is the Figo’s name for the international markets. Furthermore, the vehicle is the Ka+ facelift which made its public appearance during February 2018. In the spy images, the vehicle does not feature any camouflage. In addition, the Ka+ badge indicates that the vehicle is not an India spec-version. Nevertheless, the updates that we see on the international Ford Ka+ are likely to be carried forward in the Ford Figo Facelift for India.

The Ford Figo Facelift is going to come with minor aesthetic updates. The front profile of the hatchback will get a new bumper design. In addition to this, the updated Figo also comes with restyled air-dams and chrome surrounds on the fog-lamps. The chrome treatment does not end here. The front grille too is going to get a chrome frame and mesh. Furthermore, the headlights will also feature chrome inserts. The rear fascia is also going to get significant updates. The tail-lamp cluster will sport a new design. Also, the bumper features a restyled layout.
The cabin of the Ford Figo Facelift or the Ka+ comes with an entirely new design. This is the same layout which we saw in the Ford Freestyle. The console comes with a new touchscreen infotainment system. This is the same design which we are also going to see on the Aspire facelift.

Ford India will not retain the engine specifications of the Figo with this facelift. The petrol derivative will get a new 1.2-litre Dragon series engine. This motor is derived out of the 1.5-litre Dragon petrol engine which we see on the EcoSport Facelift. The engine is capable of producing 95 BHP along with 120 Nm of peak torque. The diesel derivative will continue to retain the same 1.5-litre TDCi unit. The oil-burner churns out 99 BHP along with 215 Nm of peak torque.
We expect the Ford Figo Facelift to launch in India sometime during the second half of 2018. Prices will largely remain the same. Currently, the base petrol variant of the Ford Figo costs INR 5.37 lakh. While the top-spec diesel trim retails at INR 8 lakh.
