Ford is reportedly planning to equip the BS-6 Endeavour with a new 2.0 Litre diesel engine, ditching its 2.2 Litre and 3.2 Litre diesel engine.
Ford Endeavour is available with two engine options, a 2.2 Litre diesel engine for the lower variants and a 3.2 Litre diesel engine for the high-end variants. For the BS-6 Ford Endeavour, the manufacturer is going to ditch these engines.
Reportedly, Ford is working to bring a new 2.0 Liter bi-turbo diesel engine for the BS-6 Endeavour. Its actually not a new engine but is used on the Endeavour (Everest) that is sold in the Australian market.
The new 2.0 litre diesel engine will be paired with a 10-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The engine is tuned to produce 210 BHP and 500 Nm of peak torque. In comparison to the other two engines, it produces more power and torque.

The 2.2 Litre diesel engine is good to produce 160 BHP and 385 Nm of peak torque. The bigger 3.2 Litre diesel engine produces 200 BHP and 470 Nm of peak torque. On the smaller engines, a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT are the options. Whereas on the bigger engine, a 6-speed AT comes as standard.
The new BS-6 Ford Endeavour will continue to be sold in 4X2 and 4X4 configurations, the latter coming on the high-end variants. Further, there will be no cosmetic changes or new features added on the BS-6 version.
Ford Endeavour is already equipped with safety features such as Hill Descent Control and Launch Assist, Electric Locking Rear Differential, Front and Rear Parking sensors with camera, 7-Airbags, Traction Control, Tyre Pressure Monitor, Crash Sensor and more.

The Endeavour is currently priced starting from Rs 28.19 Lakhs up to Rs 32.97 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). With the new BS-6 engines coming, the prices of Endeavour will receive a hike of up to Rs 1-1.5 Lakhs. It will continue to rival the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Honda CR-V, Mahindra Alturas and Volkswagen Tiguan.
