Ford Endeavour offers a plethora of features and a bigger engine option than the Toyota Fortuner. Both SUVs follow a similar price range.
Despite the auto industry slowdown, the SUV segment stays strong and depicts growth in sales for some models. Ford Endeavour is one such SUV which managed to see a growth of 14% in August sales.
Ford Endeavour sales for the month of August stands at 572 units as opposed to 503 unit in the same month of 2018. The SUV directly competes with the likes of Toyota Fortuner and the latter is not doing good in sales. Well, Fortuner sales figures are far better than the Endeavour but the sales have been declining when compared to its own chart.
Toyota Fortuner saw a decline of 52% in sales and the numbers stand at 878 as compared to 1818. No doubt, the Japanese SUV is a segment leader but with the slowdown of the market it is taking a hit and the Ford Endeavour sales have been booming up. Though not up by a high margin but it is there. So what makes the Endeavour so good? We tell you!

The full grown 7-seater SUV hosts loads of features. Safety features of the Ford Endeavour include seven airbags along with ABS with EBD and ESC, front and rear parking sensors along with a rearview camera, hill start and descent assist.
One of the major highlights in the Endeavour is the availability of a panoramic sunroof which the Fortuner lacks. Coming to the interiors, it sees a black and beige theme as opposed to the earlier brown and beige theme. The instrument cluster remains the same with the facelifted model and the car also gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system which features SYNC3 that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Ford Endeavour is available in two engine options, both of which are BS4 compliant. They are expected to be upgraded to BS6 compliant in the early 2020s. The 2.2-litre engine paired to 6-speed automatic gearbox and also comes in manual transmission. This engine gets a two-wheel drive system. It generates a total power of 160 bhp with 385 Nm of torque.

The larger 3.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine gets mated to 6-speed automatic transmission only and churns out 196 bhp of power with 470 Nm of torque. The big SUV gets an all-wheel-drive system.
Ford Endeavour starts at Rs 28.20 lakh for the base trim while the top-end trim comes at Rs 33.8 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It competes with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturus G4 and Isuzu MU-X.
