Ford seems to be looking in the right direction as far as their future prospects are concerned. But until the time the future launches hit the roads, it needs something to get the buzz going around its current lineup. And in sync with that, has launched its flagship SUV, the Ford Endeavour and it has got itself a new edition. Endeavour All-Terrain Edition is the name of the latest variant and it has been launched with a starting price of Rs.Rs. 19,11,752 as the ex-showroom price for Delhi.
As far as the name goes, the car will be meant to go over all possible terrains. There are no mechanical changes on the car but you get refreshes and tweaks on the inside and outside of the car. On the exterior frontier, it gets electrically adjustable foldable outside rearview mirrors, the ORVMs now come with integrated turn indicators and puddle lamp, newly designed 16” alloys which come with a Ford sign embossed on them. And yes, the grille gets redesigned as well to look all the more aggressive.
When we go on to notice the insides of the car, it gets a one-touch up down for the power windows as far as the driver’s side is concerned. It gets Hydrographic film wood insert and you get audio stalk on your steering wheel to give you that comfort of hands free control of your music. You get a GPS-enabled touchscreen SATNAV system and a reverse parking camera to give you that ease when you park this butch SUV in tight parking spots.
You also get an electric shift on Fly which lets you choose between 2WD and 4WD depending upon the terrain you are driving on. Under the hood remains the same 3.0 litre diesel engine which made its way on to the car way back in 2009 when it last got a major update. We expect the next generation of the SUV to arrive in the later half of 2014 or early 2015. The All-Terrain edition comes in 3 trims.
