The 2018 Ford EcoSport is now available with a manual transmission in the top-of-the-line, Titanium Plus petrol variant. The decision to introduce a new variant was taken due to increase in public demand.
Ford India, due to public demand, has introduced the top-of-the-line petrol Titanium Plus variant with a manual transmission in India. This new variant is going to retail at a price of INR 10.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Ford India has given the EcoSport its mid-life facelift last year, in the month of November.
The new manual transmission in question is a 5-speed unit. Ford EcoSport’s petrol Titanium Plus variant comes with a 1.5-litre engine. This motor produces 122 BHP along with 150 Nm of peak torque. So far, it was only available with a 6-Speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. With the 2017 update, Ford discontinued the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine.

The Ford EcoSport is technically India’s first compact SUV of the modern era. This vehicle started a segment which now has multiple automobile manufacturers scrambling for.
Talking about the top-spec Titanium Plus variant, it comes with a host of feature and creature comforts on board. These include the likes of projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels and Ford’s SYNC 3.0 infotainment system.

In addition to this, the top-end Titanium Plus variant of the Ford EcoSport is one of the safest vehicles in its class. It comes with up to six airbags, ABS with EBD along with ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Apart from the petrol engine, the EcoSport is also available with a 1.5-litre diesel engine. This one produces 98 BHP of power along with 205 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard.

Currently, the prices of the Ford EcoSport fall in the range of INR 7.37 Lakh to INR 11.20 Lakh. It competes against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and the Honda WR-V.
