A mystery SUV has been spied near Ford’s plant in Europe which could act as the replacement for the Ford EcoSport with its debut set for 2020.
Ford has been working on a replacement of the EcoSport compact SUV which is rumoured to make its global debut in 2020. A recent set of spy images of a heavily camouflaged, Fiesta-based crossover has once again sparked debates related to the future of this compact SUV. It is believed that the new gen Ford EcoSport, in the international markets, will share its underpinnings with the Fiesta hatchback. Not only this, with the hatchback set to be discontinued soon, the new urban utility vehicle will carry forward its engine line-up as well.
The vehicle seen in the images projects more of a crossover vibe than an SUV aura. It definitely sits lower than the current generation Ford EcoSport. And by the looks of it, will have softer features in comparison as well. It remains to be seen if Ford decides to continue with the EcoSport nameplate of decides to given this vehicle a completely new identity.
