Ford has announced a recall for the EcoSport owners showing its commitment to India. Ford stopped manufacturing cars in India back in September 2021. However, it promised its customers in our market that it will continue to offer the services for Ford vehicles for the foreseeable future. This step of recalling the compact SUV for the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) issue is aimed at restoring the trust of the customers in the American carmaker. It proves that the company is dedicated to keep offering services to its customer which are over 1 million. This also reflects the character of the company which was essential after the chaos that the Ford customers find themselves in. Here are the details of the recall of the compact SUV.

EcoSport Recall Shows Ford’s Commitment To India
This post was shared by a certain Sajal Kumar Dey explaining that Ford has approached him/her to bring the EcoSport to the dealership to get it inspected for the DPF issue. There are environmental regulations in place which are needed to be adhered to. Ford explains that there won’t be any impact on the performance or safety of the vehicle even if there are some DPF issues. But still, it needs fixing because the emission levels from the SUV will be too high. Also, there might be some oscillations and vibrations while driving which might expose the DPF to damage. That has to be avoided and that is why Ford has issued this recall to get that fixed and the software updated to avoid any damage later on. This is a great example of Ford’s commitment to the Indian customers despite not manufacturing in the country anymore.

Before the discontinuation, the EcoSport came with the options of a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine good for 120 hp and 149 Nm and the 1.5-litre diesel engine makes 100 hp and 215 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. There are options of either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. It rivalled the likes of Nexon, Sonet, Venue, Brezza, XUV300 and more. Ford will continue to operate in the Indian automobile market as a niche player with imported products like the Mustang, Mach E and Raptor pickup truck in the future. As mentioned before, the service and warranty of the company will also continue for quite some time. We are glad to see the recall of the Ford EcoSport and are impressed by this commitment.
