Does a day even go by when we don’t see a Ford EcoSport spy-shot on the interweb? Ford has been testing the car extensively around the country and the test cars have finally started getting converted to demo cars. And today we have the spy shots of a demo car for you. An EcoSport has made its way to a Ford dealership in Maharashtra and from what we believe, the launch is pretty much near. The EcoSport is one of the most awaited launches of 2013 and wait seems to be ending in near future. Few days back, Ford EcoSport was spotted at Delhi dealership.
The spy shot of the car suggests that the demo car is a top end Titanium variant and comes in Orange colour. However, the engine specifications are still under the wraps and seeing that not even a single EcoSport has been spotted with TDCI badging, we can safely expect that the car will be initially launched in the petrol guise with the 1.5 litre diesel heart from the all new Fiesta. The car looks quite aggressive when viewed from front and the baby butcher looks ready to kill the competition.
The dealers are taking bookings for the car and Rs.25,000 is what it will take to make you jump the queue when the car is officially launched. Also, the whole amount will be refunded once you cancel your booking. The car will borrow the interiors from the Fiesta and the petrol variant will get an automatic gearbox as on option while the diesel, when it makes its way to the Indian roads, would not get a diesel heart.
Ford is betting big on the crossover and the car will measure under 4 meters to give that competitive edge over its nearest rival, the Renault Duster. However, we feel its only fair if the car competes with the Mahindra Quanto as the crossover from Mahindra also measures under 4 meters. The car has already been doing more than just well in the countries where it has been launched in, be it Argentina or Brazil and is making the competition sweat for a while now.
