As the launch of the ambitious Ford EcoSport is coming closer and closer, the more frequently it is being spotted in major cities. After the car’s official launch in Brazil, it was spotted in Chennai without a camouflage and recently it was caught yet again but on the roads of Pune. The pricing of the EcoSport has been appreciably good and we after the tremendous response of the car in Brazil, we are eagerly awaiting for its arrival in India.
Ford wants the EcoSport to be a global car and for that matter it is testing the same in all the major markets across the planet. It was in India when the car was spotted first after which it was caught in China and then America and recently the company even announced that the European launch will take place within 18 months.
The pictures presented here tell us a lot about the variants of the EcoSport and we will share it with you. Most important of all the variants present in the picture below is the one with steel rims and wheel covers. Even the bumpers are black and are not of the same colour as the body which tells that Ford is working on a stripped down entry variant of the EcoSport that will have minimal features to lure price conscious buyers. If you notice closely, the outside door handles are also black coloured in one of these cars. In all probability there will be either the 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine or 1.5 litre MPFI petrol unit, under the hood of this entry version.
Though Ford hasn’t yet spoken on the engine options of the EcoSport for India, we are expecting the 1.5 litre petrol unit to come first. The reviews of the EcoSport in Brazil are tempting and the whole automobile fraternity is waiting for the car to come. In early 2013, the company will officially launch the Ford EcoSport in India and it has great hopes that the car will be a hit in the market. For us it is the looks of the EcoSport which are hands down better than any other compact SUV and if this US car maker prices the car perfectly close to Duster and Quanto, who knows it will be next bestseller.
