When was the last time you heard someone was driving without the registration certificate (RC) on the road? Here is a bizarre situation.
A Ford car owner had to drive without an RC (Registration Certificate) due to the carelessness of the dealer. Now, Ford has promised to keep offering aftersales services to its customers in India even after it has stopped manufacturing cars here. The American carmaker continues to operate as a niche player in the Indian market with import products like the Mustang, Mach-E and Ranger Pick-Up Trucks. But not everyone has experienced the quality aftermarket service. Here is one such example.

Problems Galore at Ford Dealership
A Ford customer reached out to us to express his sheer frustration at how things are being handled by Sagar Ford, Sonepat, Haryana. The car was purchased in April and the owner has been trying to reach out to the dealership but no one is available to take the phone calls or return emails. There have been repeated promises but no concrete action has been executed at the ground level. Also, the buyer had given a Maruti swift Dzire in exchange but the same has been kept in dealership possession till now without transferring from the original owner’s name to someone else. Apart from that, the new car delivery ceremonies were also not done properly. This includes things like a cake-cutting ceremony which didn’t happen but is mentioned in the delivery booklet. The spare wheel cover was given to the owner after 2 months, the body cover after 3 months and the perfume was not provided at all.

All these things reflect what some dealerships are doing after the company has partially exited the country. However, Ford needs to take cognizance of such incidents so that such activities are not encouraged. If people start getting this image of carelessness from Ford, the remaining stock of Ford might remain unsold. When we reached out to the dealership, they responded with some positive action. The RC correction will be completed in December and the tyre covers etc were not available due to a lack of supply from the manufacturer. Does it mean that things will flow only if some outside intervention is there? We hope that Ford takes action against such dealers to set a precedent for other dealers who might be involved in such activities.
